Inspired by the relaxing holiday atmosphere of Sydney`s outdoor pools, Massage by the sea was launched in 1998. A massage on the decks of Wylie`s Baths is still a much-loved local tradition in Coogee. Massage by the sea is Sydney`s oldest outdoor resort-style massage therapy centre. Today happy customers also enjoy the benefits of massage indoors in our beautiful rooms at our Clovelly Indoor Centre.
All practitioners at Massage by the Sea are fully qualified Remedial Massage Therapists holding a Diploma of Remedial Massage (DRM). Our massage therapists are all registered with The Australian Traditional Medicine Society (Shareen McLeish ATMS 9288) or other accredited natural health associations and are registered providers with the applicable private health funds. We are able to provide treatments that are both relaxing AND effective in relieving pain and discomfort.
In addition, many of us have qualifications in sports and fitness, nutrition, beauty therapy and other massage modalities including reflexology, aromatherapy and lymphatic drainage. (see Our Team)

“I feel like I am floating! I feel instant relief from what felt like constant pain. Best massage I’ve ever had! Thank you” (being treated by Rudy) – Ashleigh Houlihan, Perth, mother of 2 from Perth
“Jason is in a league of excellence all on his own. Amazing healing hands. I believe I will have saved tens of thousands of dollars in acupuncture by having regular preventative treatments. Thank you for all your care and attention, Jason. It’s appreciated.” – Siyan
“Jason was fantastic. I feel so relaxed – Incredible range of techniques and exactly the right pressure. I should do this more often!” – Giselle

“I was originally recommended to Massage by the sea by a friend to deal with chronic shoulder pain as a result of a previous injury.
I was teamed up with a therapist who took the time to understand my issue and worked with me to work out a plan of recovery; within a couple of months of regular massage I no longer had the pain that had been with me for several years.
I have kept going since because I recognized the ongoing benefits to my general wellbeing and it is an excellent stress relief.
I have since tried a number of different therapists in the Massage by the sea team and can say that their professionalism and dedication to detail have yet to let me down; I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”
“10 years ago I had a brain tumour removed, and was left with very bad muscle tension headaches. Pain relief medication only worked for a little while so I decided to try a more holistic treatment. So for 10 years I have been a regular massage client at many massage studios.
Six years ago I came to Coogee and there are many places to get a massage here, but I found Massage by the sea. I can honestly recommend them to anyone wanting to have a massage. Shareen and the team there are fantastic. When the weather is nice, Wylies Baths is a great place, as you can hear the ocean as you get massaged, but the Centre in Havelock Avenue is also great (no matter what the weather).
After 6 years of regular massages with Massage by the sea I can say that, not only my physical body is feeling better, but also my soul.”
